The vision of Global Healing Incorporated (GHI) is to have the resources, personnel, and structure to provide turnkey, high-quality medical facilities in impoverished, underutilized, underemployed, and hurricane-ravaged areas. These facilities are designed to improve the quality of life for all affected individuals by offering training, employment opportunities, housing, and first-class healthcare.

Traditionally, charity care—whereby doctors directly provide needed services to individuals without charging for them—is thought to be a common practice, even somewhat expected as part of physicians’ ethical and social contract with their communities. A promise to provide charity care is, in fact, part of the Hippocratic Oath. However, public health practitioners at various levels have criticized charity care. Free or low-cost healthcare at the discretion of providers can be viewed as degrading to patients, as it often involves "begging" for help. Additionally, when there is no source of reimbursement, practitioners face economic pressure to provide narrowly focused, episodic, and minimal care.

As a result, charity healthcare often suffers from systemic issues, such as inferior treatment quality. Furthermore, charity care is unlikely to fill the existing gaps in healthcare access due to economic constraints. The disparity between the care provided and the actual medical needs of underserved communities is so vast that charity care, while well-intentioned, is ultimately ineffective.

In the traditional charity care model, physicians could shift costs from wealthier patients (or their insurance companies) to the poor by selectively writing off "debt" for low-income patients while charging inflated fees to affluent ones. However, with the shift away from fee-for-service reimbursement, third-party payers no longer tolerate cost-shifting within individual private practices. Consequently, physicians' businesses are increasingly absorbing the true cost of free care, resulting in significant economic sacrifices and income loss.

GHI offers a distinctly different approach. Through its focus on providing medical care to the underprivileged, education, technology, communication, and unification, Global Medical Surgical Centers aim to deliver a full cycle of health and wellness services to underserved areas—ensuring dignity and compassion for every individual.
